The Children’s Hour takes on bullying by helping kids understand what they can do when they see someone being treated unfairly. The Kids Crew talks with trainers from Right To Be, an organization that teaches people how to respond to harassment in safe and thoughtful ways. Through clear examples, simple exercises, and music about empathy and courage, kids learn the Five Ds of bystander intervention and discover that even small actions can help others feel supported and less alone.

What should you do if you see someone being bullied? On this episode of The Children’s Hour, the Kids Crew learns how to take action when something is not right. Bullying can happen at school, online, or in public places, and it can feel hard to know what to do in the moment. This show helps kids understand safe ways to step in and support others.
We are joined by guests from Right To Be, an organization that teaches people how to respond to bullying and harassment. They train the Kids Crew in the the “Five Ds” of bystander intervention: distract, delegate, document, delay, and direct. Through stories, conversations, and simple exercises, kids learn how each choice can help someone who is being hurt. The Kids Crew also talks about fear, courage, and how small actions can make a big difference.
This episode includes music that explores kindness, standing up for others, and empathy. Songs and stories help explain how bullying affects people and how bystanders can help stop it. Kids will hear real ideas they can use in their own lives, whether they feel ready to speak up right away or help in quieter ways.
After the training, the Kids Crew felt like they knew more about how they will respond next time they witness bullying. How will you respond?
